Greetings from the SEI Austin Chapter! We have some exciting stuff in store for you over the next two months, including our 5th annual SEI/SEAoT Structural Engineering Talks (SET) event in late April and a heavy-lifting Professional Meeting in early May. Both events promise to be engaging, educational, and great opportunities to network with our local profession. We sincerely hope to see you at both events!

SEI and SEAoT have partnered with the Texas Department of Transportation and the University of Texas at Austin to bring you the 5th annual SET event. SET 2019 will be held Wednesday, April 24th, at the Alamo Drafthouse on 1120 South Lamar Boulevard in Austin, TX. This is an extra special year for SET, as it’s our 5th anniversary of this truly unique, jointly held event. Since its inception five years ago, SET has caught national attention. Last year an inaugural SET-inspired technical session was spawned at the national ASCE/SEI Structures Congress.

Registration will take place from 6PM to 7PM and the talks will go from 7PM to 9PM. We currently have three outstanding speakers, and there may be a surprise fourth…stay tuned. Additional details on speakers and registration will be provided in an event flyer to be sent out in the coming days. Please block your calendars for this unique Austin-born event, as it promises to be a lovely evening of dinner, drinks, lively and relevant discussions, and great company!
