Amanda Austin is the Roundabout & Alternative Intersection Design (RAID) Lead for TxDOT, as part of Design Division. Her primary goal is to reduce intersection-related fatalities by increasing the usage of innovative intersection designs. Amanda's early career was spent in Washington State, where she worked on a range of transportation projects for over 11 years. During six of those years, she concentrated on roundabouts, gaining valuable expertise in roundabout planning, design and construction. In 2019, Amanda relocated to Texas and joined the TxDOT Houston District Advanced Project Development group, where her team was responsible for overseeing dozens of District schematic projects, which served to enhance her understanding of TxDOT project delivery. Amanda joined Design Division in 2023, where she is thrilled to be utilizing her experience in roundabouts and project management to contribute significantly to the ambitious Road to Zero initiative.
