Join us for our first meeting back after our summer break with guest speaker Reem Zoun!

NOTE: Time is allotted for lunch beginning at 11:30 AM. The meeting and speaker presentation will begin around 12 PM. A short period for questions & answers is reserved prior to 1 PM.

Reem Zoun, PE, CFM, ENV SP serves as the Deputy Executive Administrator of the Office of Planning at the Texas Water Development Board. She oversees the Flood Planning Division that developed and delivered for Texas’ First State Flood Plan, continues to oversee the State and Regional Flood Planning programs, and provides technical support to water planning. She has over 24 years of water resources engineering experience including over ten years of leadership and management experience. Her experience includes leadership, engineering, planning, and managing projects including capital improvement projects, stormdrain projects, bridge upgrade, water planning, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, wastewater system evaluation, and other engineering projects. Reem has a Master Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering with First Class Honours from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Australia.

Reem recently served as the Supervising Engineer for the Local Flood Risk Reduction Section at the City of Austin’s Watershed Protection Department, where she led a section of engineers and technical professionals. Reem was responsible for the storm drain improvement projects in the City, managed over $80M 5yr budget of Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), prioritization of CIPs, and managed the CIP program for her section. Reem joined the City of Austin in December of 2011, after years in the private sector, with a passion for public service. Prior to moving to the City, Reem worked for AECOM for eight and a half years where she worked on Kendall County water plan and Region K water plan among other projects. Reem has multiple publications and presented in various conferences.

Reem served as the President of Austin Branch of ASCE during 2013-2014. In 2011, she was honored as the Young Engineer of the Year by Texas Society of Professional Engineers Travis Chapter.
