Topic: Concrete Durability

Andy Naranjo , P.E. is currently the Rigid Pavements and Concrete Materials Section Director of the Materials and Tests Division of TxDOT, and oversees concrete pavement construction, as well as provides statewide support for concrete material related issues. Andy received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 2000 and his M.S. in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2007. Andy has been a registered professional engineer in Texas since 2005.
The presentation will cover a discussion of concrete deterioration mechanisms and understanding how these mechanisms progress. Additionally, the talk will cover how the use of proper material selection in design can be used to mitigate these deterioration mechanisms.
