Speaker: Rick D. Strong, P.E., the Director of Licensing for the Texas Board of Professional Engineers

Rick oversees the review of all PE applications, Firm registrations, EIT certifications and renewals in the State of Texas. The Licensing division reviews more than 3,000 PE applications per year and handles the renewals for close to 66,000 licensed Texas PEs and approximately 11,000 registered engineering Firms.

Texas Engineering Practice Act and Rules Trivia:

137.17 (c) Every license holder is required to obtain 15 PDH units during the renewal period year. 

137.17 (d) A minimum of 1 PDH per renewal period must be in the area of professional ethics, roles and responsibilities of professional engineering, or review of the Texas Engineering Practice Act and Board Rules. PDH units carried forward may not be counted to meet the professional ethics requirement.
