Metz Elementary Rain Garden

  • 84 Robert T. Martinez Jr. Street Austin, TX 78702 (map)

Metz Elementary School is installing two rain gardens and they would love your help. Depending on the shift, you will be digging, transporting soil, laying rock, spreading mulch, or planting native species. Please wear closed toed shoe and bring a water bottle. As October tends to be a rainy month please be prepared for inclement weather. The school has requested adult only volunteers. Metz Elementary School is teaming with Keep Austin Beautiful (KAB) and EWRI Austin Chapter to build this rain garden. KAB will supply water coolers and the tools needed to construct the rain garden. These rain gardens were designed by UT ASCE students. Please RSVP by e-mailing Bryan Martin, EWRI Community Outreach Chair, at bmartin@bgeinc.com and it is encouraged to go to KAB’s website to RSVP so that the number of volunteers can be anticipated and planned for. KAB RSVP can be accessed at the link below
