PE Review Course -
Fall 2008
The Austin YMF is now accepting students for the
Fall 2008 PE Review Course.
The course consists of four instructional
Saturdays covering eight- 3 hour breadth exam
subject sessions, and an optional student-run
review day. Please register by September 5,
2008.

2008 West Point Bridge Design
Competition
The Local West Point Bridge Design Contest
will be held from February to May this
year. This contest is a nation-wide
Internet-based competition intended to
promote math, science, and technology
education
to U.S.
students, ages 13 thru 18. This
is a great opportunity for ASCE to offer
real world experience to Austin’s young
people and generate excitement for the
engineering field at a young age. For more

About Austin YMF The
newly created Austin Younger Member Forum is
organizing and planning numerous activities.
How do you become a member of Austin YMF? If
you are a member of the Austin Branch and are 35
years of age or younger, you are a member of Austin
YMF, there is no additional membership fee. If
you don't already receive our emails, contact us and
we'll get you on the list.
Austin YMF will be focusing its efforts on
several fronts, including leadership development of
young engineers, community outreach, UT student
interaction, and social activities. Some of
the events we have planned for the upcoming year
include...
- Co-host the Austin Branch ASCE Golf
Tournament
- Monthly happy hours
- Quarterly meetings that will take the form
of field trips and/or speakers on various topics
- Creation of a PE Review Course
- Organization of a local West Point Bridge
Design competition for 8th to 12th graders
- Joint activities with the UT Student Chapter
of ASCE
